Sometime between July 3rd, 2020 and November 28th, 2021, Chloe got this freckle, darker than the rest, on the left of their nose. My heart sank when I went to scratch it off with my fingernail 5 days before I had to leave.

Chloe and I saw each other this past July, had it always been there? Surely I’d have noticed it. When the time is so precious, I don’t see everything. I miss whole slices of Chloe’s life like a beautiful drive I don’t mean to sleep through.
